Representing GB, Caroline (-78kg Women) put in a fine performance in a very tough group of quality European fighters. With no byes in her first round contest, Caroline won with an Ippon throw to secure further progress into the next rounds. Winning her next two contests put her into the Quarter Finals. A narrow decision went to the opponent, stopping a chance in the semi-finals for a bronze. But a solid performance and lot more to come I feel.

Dartford Judo Club, Red Yellow and Orange Belt Rumble, 29 April 2012

The renrukan took 12 players to Dartford for a Orange Belt and under competition. The day presented a very strong field of Judo players and it became a very challenging day for our Judokas. And that’s good, as it pulls out skills and courage at all levels.

Luca, in only his second competition since turning 8, pulled out some true courage in a very strong group and earned himself a very well deserved 3rd BRONZE.

Outstanding results for the renrukan.

Intellectual and Physical Disability Judo Championships East Scotland Saturday 21st April 2012

Skye Westwood entered this competition, it was her very first time at this type of event and she achieved a fantastic result. She won all of her fights and gained the title of CHAMPION of the above mentioned event.

Northern Ireland Open International, Belfast 21st and 22nd April 2012

Also the same weekend but travelling to Northern Ireland Open International Sat/Sun 21st-22nd April.

renrukan entered two players for this Competition, Caroline in the Senior Ladies -78kg and Ella in the new minor juniors division -27kg. The event is classed as GB ranking competition, so is very important to many players.

On saturday Caroline won all her fights and had to fight in the +78kg, due to numbers. She became the NI OPEN CHAMPION!

On sunday came Ella’s turn and she again won all her fights and became NI OPEN CHAMPION -27kg.

A fantastic show of judo skills from both players.

A brilliant result for our players and great titles to be held for the renrukan club. As a coach it makes me very proud to be in the company of such players and be able to watch the etiquette and quality of match presence against other players that seems to be lacking in other areas.

14 players entered the Samurai championships on Saturday and all of them gave another fine performance.
Alfie McIntosh in his very first contest after turning 8 years of age, winning all his fights with IPPON. Not a bad start!
